Executive Director of Folk Alliance since 2014, Finnan lends a lifetime of music and community organizing to a broad overview of many cultures and many people finding their way to each other through music. Born in Dublin, Ireland and raised in Ontario, Canada, Aengus has a long history of humanitarian and cultural work for which he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal in 2003. He’s been an elementary school teacher, a touring musician, and a festival organizer. His thoughtfulness and eloquence made him a sought after and respected member of the Leadership Bluegrass class of 2016.
