The American Banjo Museum in Oklahoma City hosts a stellar panel of banjo players and historians as the roots of the banjo's colorful evolution are traced. From its humble African roots to its modern day voice in Bluegrass, Folk and World music, each step of the banjo's evolution will be presented with words, images, historical significant instruments and musical demonstrations. Participants will include Bob Carlin, Jens Kruger, Mark Johnson and Johnny Baier presenting music and instruments of the pre-Minstrel period, the Minstrel era, the Classic era of the late 1800s, the Jazz Age of the 1920s, the Post WWII emergence of the banjo in Bluegrass and the evolution of hybrid modern banjo styles.
